Frequently Asked Questions

How old do you have to be to enter?

Entrants must be 16 years or older hold a valid motorcycle licence, or Motorcycling Australia racing annual or one event licence.

Who picks who you race?

You do! Race your mates, race strangers, race faster bikes, it's all up to you. The first few hours at every event are self selected match ups.

What time do I have to be there?

While gates open at 5:30pm, and the track opens at 6pm, you can arrive and participate as late as you like, so long as you make it to the last riders briefing at 7:45pm.

How do you start?

Left lane sets the pace, and will trigger the green light, so match their speed (approx 40km/h) and get ready to head to the finish line when the light goes green.

I've got a race bike, can I still enter?

We need to approve and scrutineer all non-registered bikes, so we'll ask for a pic when you enter so we can check it out. Bikes with wheelie bars won't be able to participate though.

Do you check registered bikes?

A part of your entry is a self-scrutineering declaration confirming that your throttle self-closes, your front and rear brakes work and there are no visible fluid leaks. Our team will visually check bikes as they enter the circuit and may stop riders for spot checks.

Who is Moto Roll Racing For?

Moto Roll Racing appeals to a wide range of motorcyclists including but not limited to:

  • Street riders looking to have some fun
  • Racers practicing
  • Drag racers testing
  • Modified &/or Tuned bike riders
  • Experienced riders
  • Novice riders

How safe is it?

All racing carries risks (that will be made clear in your riders briefing), however high speeds are restricted to only the main straight for approximately 250m, no corners are taken at speed, and only two competitors are racing at any one time. The rolling starts reduce the risks associated with a standing start, including flipping the motorcycle, while also being gentle on equipment.

What gear do I need to wear?

Full-face helmet, road motorcycle gloves, motorcycle boots that at a minimum offer ankle protection and motorcycle clothing that includes knee, elbow and should impact protection. For more specifics, see the Supplementary Regulations by clicking HERE.
